Each person, with their life circumstances, is completely unique.
I believe that change happens in an atmosphere of acceptance, compassion and care, and that hinges on the relationship between therapist and client. My own inner work impacts my life and the lives of my clients. I bring a sense of humility and perceptiveness to this relationship.
When working with clients who are overwhelmed with fear and anxiety, I strive to draw my clients out through building a vessel which can contain the intensity of their emotions. The goal is to be present with uncomfortable feelings, to explore and lean into them.
As a certified advanced grief counselor, I’ve worked with individuals struggling with bereavement, end-of-life concerns. and serious debilitating illnesses. When my clients feel depressed, it is my job to help them realign with their own inner wisdom and vitality.
There are many different paths which help people transform. The work of a good therapist involves understanding what speaks to that specific person. I recognize my clients’ strengths and work to help them find empowerment.
We don’t choose the circumstances we are given. The circumstances themselves are a calling to uncover hidden potential. As Victor Frankl said, “He who has a reason to live for, can bear with almost any how.” Our lives are not random and the way we choose to respond is of utmost importance.
Therapy gives people the needed pause in their lives to live with greater awareness and intention.
